So i have been thinking of getting an rx480 and maybe an i5 4460. I chose the 4460 because i mainly play arma and dayz. I will also be playing ark survival. But is there a cpu that would offer a better value than the i5? It might be a bit out of my budget. Is there something better thats cheaper or maybe something a lot better thats only a bit more expensive? This would really help me out. I want to buy it used btw so if that helps i just thought id throw that out there.

He should wait for the reviews first, not buy it right away.

Because I can get an i5 4460 for around a 100$ used. I can't justify spending that much on a CPU. What I meant to ask is, is there a better cpu than the i5 4460 under 120$? That's a better question.

If you can get for 100 USD then its a steal as it stands.

Well I found an i5 6500 for 130 so that's probably even better right? If I got that how well would it perform in ark survival with something like a 1050ti?

Both should perform well with a 1050Ti and would even do so with a RX 470 (usually a better deal than the 1050Ti) or a 1060/RX480 . Both CPUs seem like a good deal as they stand, if you can afford to pay the extra for the i5 6500 do, its 70-60 USD down its original price and it isn't even that old!

Note: Keep your expectations LOW for ARK, it's poorly optimised as it stands.

No:

can't find i5 6500 benchmarks, but even with the i7 it doesn't seem stable at high 1080p:

If you want to buy a second hand CPU go with the i5 2400. I'm not sure if it bottlenecks the RX 480.

Another tip: Get a GTX 1060. I have a RX 480 and it's loud as hell!

noise depends of cooling system, different manufactures make use different cooling solutions.
