I recommend getting a aio cooler. Corsair h100i gtx will do.

For A non k Cpu?Like sure there's Noise but at point you might as well put your pc in a diffrent room and spend 50 on really long cables or sound isolation foam

He said he will run a 1080 ti. I'm going to assume he's going to be playing pretty extreme games. So a stock cooler isn't going to cut it.

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

?

Gpus usually dont dictate cpu heat. There is littreally no difference in performance between a stock and a AIO considering you cant overclock

Example

i7+stock cooler=60fps

i7+Aio=60fps

Im sorry i must've not explained. His gpu makes me think he'll be playing extreme games on high graphics.

Example

i7 running hardcore game @ 70 C with stock

i7 running hardcore game @ 50 C with AIO

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

I have a i7 7700(non k) do i need to buy liquid cooler for this or stock cooler will work, which comes with intel i7 7700

i have to run gtx1080ti with it.

Stock cooler will probably work fine but a liquid cooler would be a waste of money.

There are good, inexpensive aircoolers in between.

The stock cooler isn't going to keep a 7700k at 70c at load--it's more like 90c. The 7700k runs hotter than the 7700 by a fair margin due to the higher clock speed.

@nagato0922

The stock cooler might be enough with some undervolting but expect some throttling with voltage at auto.

You don't need a liquid cooler for the cpu--an air cooler works just fine.

i7's with heavy tasks are bit more than stock can handle. It won't overheat, but will be hot. So I would recommend low-midrange air cooler. Going for 240mm AIO is unnecessary.
