Hello,

I'm running an i7 4930K with an ASUS X79-Deluxe motherboard @ 4,3GHz / 1.25V for daily usage. I think my chip lost the lottery, as I can't even hit 4,5GHz @ 1.39V (and I'm not man enough to go 1.4V). Will share results down below:

So, I was watching a YouTube video about Ivy Bridge-E / X79 overclocking, and already knew the basic stuff like Core Voltage, Multiplier, Straps, BCLK etc... He mentioned that you should be able to overclock your Ivy Bridge-E up to 4,5GHz with just manual voltage, but for above 4,5GHz you should change ADDITIONAL settings, and here's what he changed.

  • CPU Spread Spectrum: Auto --> Disabled
  • PCIE Spread Spectrum: Auto --> Disabled

  • CPU Load-line Calibration: Auto --> Medium
  • CPU Current Capability: Auto --> 100 %
  • VCCSA Load-line Calibration: Auto --> Regular
  • VCCSA Load-line Calibration: Auto --> 140 %

  • CPU VTT Switching Freq: Auto --> 1.3x (cleaner power???)

  • He also says that you need to disable CPU VTT Overcurrent Protection.

With all these changes, as well as having the correct voltage, you should be able to hit 4.6 - 4.8GHz, according to this YouTuber. Now, can anyone please tell me what all the additional settings that he changed in the video above are? What does each do? Here's the video, watch from 20:09 - 23:13 (only 3 minutes of your time). Thanks in advance.
