L4D2 steam not loading up. Help

Everytime I try to launch up l4d2 on steam it says preparing to launch and nothing happens I tried to look up solutions online but none of them work

did you try to reinstall, verify integrity of game files, or restart steam?

What are your system specs?

Include the Operating System you're using as well.
