Process Gone Wild, 90%+ CPU Usage.

I think this is day 3 of having this issue and it's really bothering me. 

 

My System Idle Process is taking 90% + CPU usage and sometimes causes my videos to stutter. 

Also I have a lot of SVChost.exe going on that i don't recall before either. 

I did an Avast full system scan, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware full scan, Malwarebytes Ad-ware cleaner.

Still having this issue.

it says percentage of the time your cpu is idle.... thats why its 96 percent and at the bottom its 4 percent cpu usage...

I feel like it's fake tho because I never had this process there before and now I have it and I have noticeable CPU being slow symptoms

But that does explain the discrepancy in Usage.

If System Idle Process is at 96%, that means your system is 96% idle.

Your CPU usage is 4% OP. Click the "performance" tab and you can see your CPU usage in real time.

I understand that y'all haha. 

What I'm saying is the "System Idle Process" process was never there before and once it started showing up (along with all the svchost) my computer began to run slower.

Are you sure you just didn't notice it before? It should've always been there, it's a feature of the OS. I don't know why your PC seems to be running slower, but I don't necessarily think it's related.

 

The 4% of your CPU's attention that isn't idle seems to be devoted to two processes both related to Windows search indexing functionality. 4% isn't much and I wouldn't expect that to be a noticeable problem, but that's all your PC seems to be doing from the screenshots above. You could try turning off search indexing according to these instructions and see if it improves. Just be aware that if you do this, file searches will either be really slow or not work at all.

Looking at CPU usage on Win7 and older task managers is hit and miss anyway. If you want to find software which are resource hogs, sort them by memory use. Like that idle process only uses 24kb of RAM -> no way its harmful. As for SVChost.exe, thats one of Windows background processes. You can disregard those also.

It was always there. same for svchost.exe.. it was there since Windows NT 4 (1996)

You probably never looked under the Detail tab (used to be called Process), or you never paid attention.
