Budget Gaming Build?

So basically I'm not so good at part picking for a PC and I just came here for some help.
I want a computer that won't have a problem with any kind of school work but my main goal is for the PC to be able to decently shred through moderate game titles; I'm looking towards something that can run a game like CS:GO at high settings over 120fps.

I would prefer this to be a cheaper build, nothing too fancy, low profile and easy to transport. Also built inside something that would be ez to upgrade later on.

BUDGET: I'd say 800$ INCLUDING the costs of a 1440p monitor and excluding the costs of peripherals like a mouse/keyboard.

No need for a CD Drive or Sound card.

help? thanks

If you expect to hit 120 FPS minimum with an 1440p monitor with an budget of $800, it isn't going to work either lower your demands or increase your budget.

This is a decent build, though you shouldnt be expecting to play any AAA games at 1440p. Especially at high settings. I'd personally go for 1080p

Please give a direct link to the parts page.  Switch the GPU to an RX 480 8GB and get a FreeSync monitor.

You can get the CPU a buck cheaper on Amazon.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

Go 1080p 144hz, hitting anything nice on 1440p without a 1070 will be unlikely.

I could totally settle for a 1080p 144hz monitor. I was only testing my luck at 1440p. But yeah those builds look awesome tbh.

But don't you need an actual OS to actually operate on your PC?

And depending on how hot my computer would get, how necessary is it to get a CPU cooler.

What can I get by raising my budget to about 900-1000$ Again including the monitor, and everything that I need

You get a stock cooler w/ non-k cpu's. Aftermarket coolers are more for k cpu's and those wanting to overclock (hence the reason to get a k processor).

Ofc you need an OS, unless your wanting to run Linux.

I'll let others answer the 3rd question, since I'm not 100% knowledgeable on certain items, only those in my build (good ol fashioned research)

Current System Specs:

CPU: Intel I5-7660K; CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X; Thermal Paste: IC Diamond 7 Carat; Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon;

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8gb) DDR4 - 2400; SSD Storage: 1TB Samsung 850 EVO; Storage: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm;

GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 8gb G1 Gaming; Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black; PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 650W 80+ Gold, OS: Windows 10 Home

The total is 749$ he can use the rest of the money for a monitor . I know 60$ is not enough so he can save money for a while and buy a good monitor

You will need an OS for the pc to work, you can get the cd-key from reddit for $20-30. The included cooler should be enough, upgrade when it can't sufficiently cool the cpu well enough.
