If you're on a fair budget I would recommend a 1060 6GB. I've tested it and all the games I've played so far (excluding Ghost recon) it will do over 60 fps and beyond. I even tried it on 4k on infinite warfare (everything on ultra) and it consistently did 45 fps on campaign. You can get a 1070 but in my opinion it is unnecessary overkill. Don't get above a 1070.

thanks for your input, I can MSI gaming X 1060 6gb and is available at a local store, I see some benchmarks first and might get this.

I agree with Quackstuff.  1060 is a king for 1080p. Get 1070 if u want better performance and not to worry much about the future .

Ultrawide 1080p is not the same as regular 1080p. Have you seen how Wildland performs?

If you can't afford a 1070 now couldn't you wait a bit and save a bit more? GPU prices are adjusting due to the ti and there will be good used deals too.

Id never jump in at the low end of the generation. 1060 will do now but it's gonna be getting pushed very hard very soon. Look for reduced or used 980ti, 1070 in the coming month or two.

Not sure of the prices there but I'll be selling my 980ti once my 1080ti arrives and I wouldn't expect much more than £260-£300 for it. I know you have exchange rates etc but they don't seem to matter at retail anyhoo 1080 ti seems to be $699 in US AND £699 in U.K.

5950 - 3090 - 32gb - Aorus FV43U - Steam Deck - Fuji xPro 3 - Olympus OM1 n

MSI gaming X is same as mine. I extremely reccomend it. It's quiet and it looks awesome in a case with a window
