HDMI issues (From Laptop/PC to TV)

idnis

Hello Linus Tech Tips forums,

I am having some issues with a new HDMI cable I bought from amazon. I wanted to duplicate my PC screen so I could play games on my TV in bed. But the screen is completely black, I have tried to change settings using the Windows Key + P and changing resolution but alas no avail. I have tried to use a smaller version of the same HDMI cable and it works completely fine.

Probably just a defective cable.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

@Alaradia I have tried that yes and it still doesn't work which is a shame.

And yeah I agree might be a defective cable I'll return it.

Thanks for the input guys and have a lovely day!
