Older cpu for computing

If email and IM is your thing, yes. In fact, a Core 2 Duo would still be good for that.

Idk paying 120 dollars (i know it's nzd which is around 100cad)  and all you do is browsing email seems too much. Besides it's a freaking 8 core.

its not for me its for my parents so they stop complaining about their slow ass pc

Just source out a second hand Dell OptiPlex with a Core i3 or i5.

an SSD upgrade and a fresh windows install might do it depending on what cpu is currently in your system

I am with BlueChinchilla here get them a inexpensive i3 or if your being spendy an I5 and a SSD.
