Okay, So I have done lighting a few times in cases, and the current strips i use are custom 3258's lengths that i solder up to sata and sleeve. However, the 3m adhesive always is a problem after a month or two aside form scotch tape any suggestions here?

Secondly, I'm building a red/black themed System right now and my GPU came in today a Double D from XFX which doesn't have a back-plate. I'm curious short of buying a new card/creating a back-plate what i can do it make it look a bit better in the case since it is a very large card. Any suggestions?

easier than I think... also looks pretty tacky though the way that guy did it. If i was going to do acrylic the only reason would be to add LED's honestly otherwise the gloss would ruin my build anyway.

For the original tape that comes with LED strips I usually just take it right off as most of those are pretty shitty, I personally use the real 3M double stick dielectric tape which holds really well but exterior mounting tape works and is more accessible.

For the backplate it just depends on the design your going for, more vinyl wrap? :P

Thanks for the suggestion if i had a CNC mill i would go that route, but pretty much outta the question. I did do a quick and dirty line on top to add an accent, and it is a black PCB, but I really don't like the look that comes from spray paint and things

Spoiler

I guess dielectric tape would work good suggestion

There are colored or opaque acrylic sheets you can get if you don't want to paint it or apply a wrap.

Yeah, I'm not sold on the acrylic I'm not even happy with the acrylic side panel I have. I could do a wrap I guess, but don't want to draw too much attention to this area I guess.

Well you can go with aluminum and send it out for anodizing or paint it. Most metal shops can do the work for you as long as you provide a drawings with all the measurements. You'll just need to use some stand off's to keep it off the PCB.
