That's not what I said at all. I believe there's a bigger chance of Intel releasing something that'll be compatible with 1151 (and that I could upgrade to) than AMD releasing anything new before 2020. I mean, look at what previously happened, right?

Well its not really that they didn't release anything. It just wasn't competitive. And even as an intel fan we all better hope they continue to stay competitive after the Ryzen release.

Sure if you want to look at it in a very limited context.  AMD had a ton of non-tech related issues that they've had to deal with - not the least of which would include having to sell off ALL of their fabs and now do all their chip manufacturing through 3rd parties.  Historically AMD has been great with releasing regular tech and I'm betting that they continue to do so again.

AMD confirmed that the AM4 socket will be supported until 2020, and they already started working on Zen 3, the successor to the successor of Ryzen.

Sure, anything competitive. I'm just more comfortable going with Intel (also because they've been focusing on single-core performance; better gaming experience). Might just close it here, boys, I'm not going AMD (as you might be able to tell). Though this has been informative, and a nice debate, thank you.

One last thing, I still didn't get an answer for my original question in the post, would you mind trying to answer? :)

Best regards, Mikkel

Looks like a pretty solid build!

There's no cheaper RAM?

Yeah but at least if I will ever need it I am sure I can upgrade to something like a 6900k or something once that eventually drops in price (hint @Intel) :)

The GPU is ~ 297mm.  The AIO (love the Cryorig btw) is ~ 63mm (rad + fan).  The clearance in the case is 395mm.  I'd say you're fine

Sadly RAM kits have gotten very expensive. Also keep in mind I'm from Denmark=weird pricing and such. That's about the best "bang for the buck" as Linus would say.

And yeah, I put an EDIT in there as I suddenly remembered xD

I just got worried because it says it'll block drive bays, but the drive bays are located next to the PSU. I guess those "things" between the front of the case and where the GPU is going are optional extra drive bays?

I believe you can mount optional brackets there.

HA!  Hopefully though your last name isn't featured prominently in a Christmas song.

Thankfully not seeing it's "Bang-Møller Broe", yeah, those would be some lyrics! :D

Lol this thread gave me a good crack up in general :D I can respect wanting to go with intel for comfort, just keep in mind games are leaning more and more away from single core performance and getting better at multithreading. But that's my last 2 cents :P the build will be functional and seems like a good rig, better and faster than mine and I do content creation fine. Good luck.
