Kickass celeron?

So, we have all seen the super kickass kaby lake Pentiums

 

What about celerons? will we ever see a $30 ish CPU from intel that will perform gaming tasks well?

 

Is it possbile?

If you want to game at 900p or lower, gaming on a Celeron is feasible

I think the best budget one would be the new g4560 with 2 cores/4 threads, should be OK for gaming I would think... have yet to test this myself though.

 

I know it's not a celeron, and you had already mentioned the kaby lake CPUs, but just thought it's worth mentioning that they are currently the best I would recommend for budget CPU.

Celeron processors can kick just about any older game's butt.  Civ 5 on a Celeron?  No problem.  Crysis 3 (which is not that old)?  That's fine, as long as you turn the settings down.

 

Celerons are essentially downclocked Pentiums (before Pentiums had hyperthreading).  Gaming on them is definitely not preferred, but not awful either.
