It would make more sense use a Pentium G4560, it has the performance of the 6100 but is on the new Kaby Lake architecture.

It would cause issues with the RX 480:

I'm even keen to recommending the 6GB 1060 with that i3 7100.

It wouldn't make sense to use a RX 480 anyway, a GTX 1050Ti 4GB would be more sensible in an entry level gaming PC like this.

No, the AMD drivers simply have too much overhead in DX 11.

Even in DX 12, both cards are similar in power, keep in mind that the RX 480 4GB is a full fat RX 480 unlike the GTX 1060 3GB which is cut down, thus outside of VRAM intense moments they should be the same. And as we know the RX 480 is similar to the GTX 1060 in terms of performance.

Again, overhead issues in DX 11. Unless he gets a quad core i5 it will cause it to get slower than the 1060 in DX 11.

@Castdeath97, what do you mean by "overhead"? You mean that amd driver updates are "deleting" or not optimising for dx 11 games?

of course that on more gpu demanding games doesnt bottleneck but if we're talking about more cpu than gpu, this gpu would definitely bottleneck of course
