In order to determine the correct bridge when purchasing from EVGA, you count the empty slots between the cards.  Keep in mind that this is not the same for different HB Bridge manufacturers.

 

I have drawn this out in the images below.  The red lines represent the slots occupied by the GPUs themselves and the blue line represents the empty slots counted to determine the proper EVGA HB Bidge.

 

To answer your question though, you need a 1-slot if you purchase from EVGA.
