'm either using OpenDNS or 8.8.8.8 not exactly sure.

you need to change that to a local dns server.

Id just setup a small dns server on a pc or server.

Just to be clear this is going to be a DNS setting I will find in my router 192.168.0.1?

Depends on the router, most highend ones can be changed, while cheap ones can't be adjusted.

Would like to know how to create my own redirect, or change my own DNS. Anything that will achieve the goal really.

Goal: When I by habit go to amazon ->ctrl-enter = www.amazon.com I want it to redirect me, or to just go directly to smile.amazon.com. Dat charity tho.

My flawed search terms are not yielding good results. Even just the appropriate search term should solve this for me.

Thanks everyone!

FOr your computer or your network

FOr your comupter, just edit the resov.conf file

For the network, change the dns server's settings on your router or dns server.

It would be nice to have it be network wide.
