I just bought the Asus RT-AC88U from the store, hooked it up to my telstra modem, took me like 30 minutes to get it to detect my internet thing, i have a static ip (apparently cus thats the one that worked).

anyway i thought after that i would have internet connection again.. it said it was connected on the router.asus site, but no internet.

my other modem/router had this problem when i got nbn, it just wouldn't give me any internet.

I think that they're just incompatible with telstra NBN. does anyone know if thats true and does the WAN cord go from the routerr into the modem WAN socket or into just a LAN?

Do you pay for a static IP address?

If so, did you set everything up properly that was given to you by your ISP?

If you aren't sure, you probably don't pay for one and therefor that's the wrong option.
