It powers off of USB for PC use, but you can also buy a 5V DC adapter. It has 3.5mm and 6.3mm headphone outs, and a pre-out in case you want to use it to control powered speakers. There's also a -10db/0dB gain switch. The DAC supports DSD files if you're into that kinda thing.

The newer model, the OriGen+, also comes with a second switch to let you send the signal to the headphones or the pre-out. The original sends the signal to the headphones and pre-out simultaneously, so it can be a little problematic if used with powered speakers. The plus version also adds an optical input (I suspect you will need a 5V DC to use this).

I've owned the non-plus for a while now... maybe almost a year. It's a solid product (literally it's all metal exterior). There's no funny positioning with the plugs. A silly feature that's kind of fun to watch is that it has a light indicating the intensity of the volume. It's actually two lights, one for each channel... it's nifty to see. It has really decent power, it can drive my DT 770-250ohm to ear bleed levels. Any distortion is unnoticeable, but that should be somewhat expected for a ~$100 unit. My only negative complaint is that it requires drivers to function with USB. It's irritating because of the Windows 10 driver signing thing. There's some hoop to jump through, but you only have to jump through once.

Have I offended you? Honest question. Because you then went on and wrote an explanation anyway.

Nah not at all. I didn't have time to submit as detailed of a response last night when I originally responded. I don't mean to be making any trouble. I was just messing with you
