Getting more FPS in CS GO by disabling cores

In CS:GO I get about 190 FPS, or something similar.

I've seen others get like 300 on 580 GTX or faster. Which I'm currently using.

I guess this is because of the FX-8350's single core performance. Which is pretty bad.

Could I disable 6 of the cores, and overclock the heck out of it to get a muuuch higher fps??

Your unlikely to get a higer oc by disabling cores.

but really, you already are running at 190 fps.

In csgo higher frames are better even on a 60hz monitor, has to do with response times and stuff.

It would be easier to buy and Intel Pentium and oc that, or maybe new graphics card. I don't really see any meaningful improvements coming from disabling cores and oc'ing an 8350.

.... But why?

oh, cs go was just an example.

It basically because, like 90% of the games i have played, haven't used more than 2 or in best cases 4 cores.

So the 4 other cores are basically wasted anyway.

2kilcksphillip did a video where he disabled hyperthreading and got 5 more fps but you don't need to if you are getting 190fps. don't bother.

I see.. Just kind of useless to have 8 cores, if no games actually use them xD

there is a video on it, again it has to do how response times in csgo work, tldr Higher frames equals better response time in csgo.

Seems like for 99% of the games, 7700K is the way to go :D

Or the i5 7600K

If your sole interest on this planet is to push the highest framerates in CS:GO, then yes, the i7 7700K is the best CPU for you right now.

99% of console ports? Maybe, although even then I suspect it's a very, very high estimate.

What are you talking about ????
I'm saying, that if you want to have as high fps in games as possible, you gotta go with intel's kabylake.
Amd has got nothing similar.

I don't mind it if you want to be an Intel fanboy and deny what Ryzen has done to the CPU market, I really don't, but even if you take AMD out of the picture, there's still games that'll run better on Broadwell-E than on Kaby Lake, simply due to core count.

Oh, sorry then. I may have just been mislead by you starting to have a go at AMD while I hadn't even mentioned that brand at all. 9_9

As for your other claim, that is simply untrue. Maybe this applies to all the games that you choose to play, but there is more out there, you know?

Hahah you big troll.

Where are only two main brands, intel & amd.

Intel's top performer in single core is kaby lake, hence high fps in most games.

amd has got NOTHING close to that in IPC .

But you already know this :D:D So why're you messing with me?
