Working towards starting Gaming Cafe/Tech repair

FrizL

We have been pricing locations, planning logistics, etc. I want to find out the best way to go about buying pc components in bulk. Any ideas from the community?

Last person i knew was @MANIDY inc. He had great deal on some cpus.

You could get a high core count cpu, and then do some virtualization to have multiple computers on one computer like in 10 gamers, 1 cpu

i like trains 馃檪

Hey,

I would recommend trying to go through main suppliers rather than through third party companies, also keep in mind that if you buy too much then you would have to find a place to store it and so I would advise not buying any specialist components. For example, if you want to repair phones, you could buy large amounts of screens are well as batteries and things like that, however I wouldn't advise buying large amounts for uncommon phones, things like iPhone's and Samsung devices are more common and therefore it is best to buy more components from those.

It may be worth speaking to a tech store in your area and finding out where they source their components from, try not to let them know that you are planning to set up a company for it however as this may cause you more problems.

Some commercial sites also do discounts if you order large amounts and you 聽are willing to wait, for example, if you purchase 10 screens on ebay you will get a better price for each one than if you were to buy them individually.

Hope this helps.

Unless you have a place to store all of those components, it'd be cheaper in the long term to order as much as necessary. Not to mention for computer hardware, I can't imagine getting a decent enough discount to matter.

For this kind of business, especially as an independent shop owner, you make your money on selling a service, not products.

Yes of course. We are looking to make money by supplying pcs/consoles to game on at an hourly rate (or in blocks), tech repair, hosting tournaments, and small refreshment items. Got the layout designed and next is to start planning purchases.聽

I appreciate everyone's feedback! The more feedback the better it is for us.
