Some game work and even more don't after CPU upgrade? Mabye? Please help me.

trainergames

I Upgraded my CPU earlier this week, and i have started to notice that some of my games are not working, while some others are still working fine.

My System:

I7 3770K(was was running fine at 4.5ghz but set it back to stock to see if it was the problem, getting rid of overclock now same error in new vegas as Skyrim)

MSI Z77A G45 Gaming

Corsair A70(with H100 Fans)

16GB DDR3 1333Mhz(2 Kingston blue,2 Samsung)

XFX R9 380 2GB

Sound Blaster Recon Sound Card

2x 120GB Samsung 840's in raid 0

960GB Sandisk Ultra SSD

750GB HDD

500GB HDD

500GB USB HDD

Corsair TX650w

Thermaltake V3 case

3 Case Fans

Windows 10 Pro

Oh and the CPU i was running before the upgrade was an i7 2600(non-k).

List tested games:

Working:

Forza Horizon 3

Minecraft

Fry Cry 3

Saints Row 4

Don't Work:

GTA 5( "Unable to initialize DirectX 9 Device" error)

Skyrim("failed to initialize renderer unknown error creating the renderer" error)

Fallout 3 and New Vegas ( both just don't load after pressing play)

Spintires(does nothing after clicking on it in steam just sits there saying running and i have to end it's task)

Subnautica(Crashes while loading with no error message)

Now keep in mind most of the games that don't work it has been weeks to months since i have tried to play them.

So i am not sure if the CPU is the problem, plus on the games that do work my load time for them are much better than my last CPU.(example Forza now loads in under a minute,it used to take it 3 minutes to load).

I would rather check all other means before i go taking my system back apart again because i used the last of my thermal paste put in the 3770k.

I hope it's not the CPU because i paid $75 for it...

I have tried reinstalling GTA 5 and it did nothing, and i didn't think i would need to reinstall windows for just a CPU Upgrade.

Depends, it's possible that the drivers installed for your chipset isn't liking the switch from a sandybridge CPU to an Ivybridge CPU...

Do you think downloading the latest chipset drivers from MSI would mabye fix it?

Probably not...

A reinstall of windows is probably the best idea here as after all, you did change a component and it started happening...

What would be the best way for me to reinstall my windows 10 which was upgraded from windows 7?

A factory reset that's now included in whindows 10 might actually be enough but a complete reinstall is still recommended (and if you need to find out what key is currently installed on your system then erm...there are dodgy programs on the interwebz that claims it does that...)

You know what, after for ever backing up files,i decided that i am just going to leave it for now.

Because if stuff goes well i should be building a ryzen system soon.

And this my system will just go to my brother in law and i will reinstall the OS and test it then.
