Hello there,

since my laptop consists of a i3 3120m and a gt 635m, my system get hot very often.

I could solve this issue by limiting the Fps, but the problem is, that nvidias inspector software

doesnt work.

is there any program, which can do the same task?

try cleaning the laptop and replacing the thermal paste if you feel comfortable with that. Should help the temps.

@Benedoge Just a recommendation, if you do that, use Arctic MX-4 or EK Ectotherm as both are non conductive and non capacitive.

You replaced the thermal paste in War Thunder? Wut? xD

Did you quote the wrong post?

Oh sorry xD

Well, if your PC gets very noisy, you should do what @RGProductions suggested. The thermal paste in your laptop has probably hardened over time and needs to be replaced :D

well.. with a system like that, you're probably gonna be limiting your fps below playable amounts to keep your system quiet.

i have *one* game that doesnt properly vsync (name and shame: sims 3) for which i use an application which is very creatively named "FPS Limiter" which was last updated in 2007 :P

or more likely, the fan is clogged with dust.

it's amazing how many people attest the problem to thermal paste "and give the heatsink a cleaning while they're in there", and then say that because of the thermal paste their temperatures improved.

yes you can install MSI afterburner which come bundled with Riva Tuner and in riva tuner you will look for ''Framerate limit''

Well, judging by the CPU, this laptop is quite old, so there is definitely a chance that the thermal paste is causing issues as well...

maybe a few degrees?

seriously.. at some point i'm gonna get my old HP off the shelf that's been running at 95°c for years until i properly de-dusted it, and i'm gonna do thermal testing before and after a repaste.

i've yet to see anyone post an actual benefit of repasting something that is not a plain horror show and get a notable benefit out of it without also taking the dust out the heatsink.
