I5 7500 or something else

My amd a10 7700k has recently broke down and I am now looking for a new motherboard and cpu combo. I have seen that ryzen is coming out but the 4 four variants are coming in Q2 of the year, so I won't be getting that as I need it very soon. My budget is £300 could someone help me please.

I mostly play games such as GTA, for honor and overwatch, so I'm looking to run them at 60fps at high.

For 300 Pounds the 7500 really seems the best way to go, though even then you gonna have to stretch it a bit:

Don't worry, it's totally fine!

 

Alright.. The 960 can push 60FPS on overwatch on high no doubt.

So just a CPU and motherboard combo should do you fine.

Well yes it is a good deal, keep in mind you'll have to still buy the memory, the https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/y8rcCJ/corsair-memory-cmk8gx4m1a2400c16r

is a good pick, it will somewhat look nice with that motherboard while also supporting the 2400mhz frequency which is as far as the motherboard goes, and do get a single stick so you can upgrade to 16gb the day you feel the need, if you go 2x4gb sticks you will kill your upgrade path while dual channel won't have a huge impact on gaming performance unless you are playing with the iGPU which you are not since you got a GTX960 [:

 

*edit just noticed this mobo has 4 dims instead of 2, so you could go 2x4gb if you want to since you can still get 16gb in the end of the line, though I would remain with the 8gb one.

Yeah my friend, this is good!

 

Will do you just fine for gaming a while, it's about the best you can get for that amount of money right now.

The CPU will keep up for a while, your GPU will probably be your nearest upgrade.

Oh yes GTA V on a 960 is edgy hehehe, but he should be fine until Vega come.

well the gtx 970 is about the performance of a rx 470. the gtx 1060 and the rx 480 are more on par with the gtx 980. i would get the rx 480 out of those options and might even opt for the 4gb version if i'm only playing at 1080p.

For the budget you're on and the demands you have for gaming the 960 should do you fine for now, but when the time comes that it stop doing you good- THAT's when you should upgrade.
