Hey! Second build I post tonight, I'm trying some stuff and I like to get feedback about it!

480 will be bottlenecked in some games, if you can spend a bit more get a i5 6400

If he can wait a month-ish, he could look into getting a Ryzen R3 or R5 series, but the motherboard will have to change.

I'd make these changes if you can't wait for the R3 chips, but they're quite a ways out.

If you can scrape together another $15 you can get an i5 6500 with an RX 470.

If you're playing at 1080p that should be enough, but I'd really try to get $50 more than the $50 you already have.

 

240GB will run out awfully fast.

R5 would still be near the top of his budget and R3 isn't out for quite a while.

get your OS from reddit for $20-30 USD and wait for ryzen if possible.
