Hello community,

A quick question. I have been having some difficulty with my internet connection. This is in the form that my computer - running windows 10, seems to lose my internet connection. It loses the default gateway and IP etc. It does this intermittently and has only just started. I'm at my wits end as I've tried to configure static IP's from the router changing Ethernet cables. It only does this on my PC as well. I'm down to thinking its my NIC built onto my motherboard. I was considering getting a standalone Gigabit Ethernet adapter - amazon link www amazon co uk/CSL-Gigabit-network-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B00VE66L70/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1487892903&sr=8-5&keywords=network%2Binterface%2Bcard&th=1.

However if anyone has any ideas of how i could solve the issue or can be of any help, it will be greatly appreciated.

For those wondering what I'm running in my PC which could potentially affect this etc.

Mobo - ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX

Processor - AMD-FX 8350

RAM - 16GB DDR3 1866Mhz

Thanks in advance

Aaron

Sounds like a bad nic or driver. Those boards normally have bad nic though, so gettings a new one will be nice.

For the nic, go intel. There the best, and don't really cost most. http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTEL-i350-AM2-Dual-Port-Gigabit-PCI-e-Network-Server-Adapter-i350-T2-1000Mbps-/151247646136?hash=item23370fedb8:g:Yq8AAOSwaZdXH7lq

Thanks for the reply, i feel so dumb that i haven't checked out for bad drivers yet to be honest. Ill have a look at that, if that doesn't fix it, I think I'll have to purchase a NIC for PCI-e :)

As of writing this reply, again my connection dropped, but everything other device in the house is still online.

The driver has now been updated as well to the latest available.

Hoping that temporarily solves my probelm.
