UPDATE BIOS?

Go to solution Solved by PCApprenticeRace,

hi op we have the same issue, from this past week I got h110m board who supports 7th gen in the website but in my box I got 6th gen support, I tried hoping to make it work with my g4560 and it doesn't it just boot loop without post in the monitor. u need to update the bios first and use any 1151 socket support 6th gen CPU and be sure to have a UPS in your power system its risky to update bios... I got mine updated from a friend who I only met on Facebook from a Facebook page that sells computer and I got mine updated for free :D

I buy this motherboard Gigabyte GA-H110M Gaming 3 Link: Official website

on the box its said that this motherboard support intel 6th gen core processor  (picture in spoiler)

On the official website at Gigabyte  it says support 7th / 6th Generation Intel Core Processor (picture in spoiler)

Question :

Will it work if i do the BIOS update and install the 7th gen processor?

my plan is to have Intel Pentium G4560 (7th gen) or Intel core i3-7100 installed on this motherboard

maybe you guys can help me? thanks a lot

just get a 6th gen CPU, there is no difference really between the two new generations, apart from the 7th has 4K netflix and a pointless, overcockable i3. So get 6th, cause it'll definitely work and it will be slightly cheaper now.

i found it and it's the same version

actually i want to buy i3 6100

but i see some benchmarking on youtube and userbenchmark

the perfomance between i3 6100 and pentium G4560 is almost the same , but cost different so thats why i want to buy the Pentium g4560 which is 7th gen generation

no, I am more meaning for price drops of intel CPUs, e.g. the G4560 might go from $75 to $65-70 maybe, which is quite a large price drop in comparison so I would wait and see, as you might be able to save a bit of cash.

yea, which might mean you can spend a bit more else where in the PC, mind you those price drops might no happen at all (not my fault if they don't) but if they do, they might be worth waiting for
