I also need at least 1 display port monitor to run my 4 23" displays. Why h100? Why intel only? The 3TB is more cost efficient than the 4TB hdd. Just get the 3TB and get another one if you need more. Going 8350 is quite a bit cheaper than a 4770k. The R4 is cheaper than the 540. Case is really subjective so go with what you'd like. You could just use a display port adapter. The asus z87 ws board has 2 esata ports and 2 usb ports right next to them for power. I want a cable to plug in my sata HDDs to the usb and esata ports. So you're sure you need esata? I don't need esata in the define r4, I will use it, but some way to use my sata hdd's externally with a usb port and the sata 6g esata would be nice none the less.. The h100I is cooler than most air and love corsair's reliability and service. 4770k beats 8350 especially when overclocked. Intel cpu's preform better and are more reliable then amd cpu's for my needs. I know the 3tb is more cost effective but 2 tb are more space and better overall price/gb. how does the asus monitor that you suggested stack up with the pb238q factoring in the price of a dp adapter and cable? You could just get an external enclosure or adapter for sata to usb 3.0 for a few bucks. They're quite cheap and versatile. The h100i is more expensive and has loud stock fans. If you want a quiet system or even a decent sounding system, I'd highly recommend not sticking with stock fans. The Phanteks is pretty much the king of air coolers next to the Silver Arrow SB-E atm. It's quiet and performs very well. Actually, the 8350 and 4770k trades blows depending what you're doing. This is especially true for 3d rendering. Intel doesn't necessarily perform better and both are equally reliable. You don't see some clear trouncing in real life applications until you move up to intel hex cores. Double check the prices... I'm pretty sure the 3TB drives have a better gb/$ ratio than the 2TB's. The PB238q is a bit better but it's mostly the features of swivel and such. It's up to you if you want to spend more for that. Both are great displays. Adapters and cables are relatively cheap. Since I am going for the define r4, I don't need the esata thing, it's just nice to have. The h100i is only a little more, and with nff12's on it it will be better than any air cooler, and very quiet. For the specific type of editing I do I will see better preformance with the 4770k. I have had bad luck with amd in the past, that with the better performance in my specific use case makes me go for the 4770k and overclock it as far as it will go. Upon re checking the price the 3tb is only $30 more so for 2 of them only $60 more. I will go for the cheaper one, and also get a fast asus tn for gaming, so I will got one of the ips you recomend, an asus 1ms gaming, and a 5ms tn acer to go with my current 5ms tn for 4 23" monitors. Are you just going H100i for looks? What kind of specific editing are you doing? Any examples in which the 4770k does better than the 8350 for that? The difference between 1ms GTG and 5ms is pretty unnoticeable and pretty much the same thing. GTG (grey to grey) response time is not the same as normal response time which is black to black or white to white. I'd recommend just sticking with matching displays.
