I had 2 older fans in my case. they are a bit noisy, so im looking for a potential upgrade.

Also, if the fans are quiet enough, i may see if they work as dual purpose as case fan/radiator fans.

I currently have 3 fans (1 died recently) but the 2 fans on my radiator are corsair SP 120mm PWM fans, and the rear is an old fan. the label is worn away.

be quiet! SILENTWINGS 3 120mm/140mm (120mm for radiator, and 140mm for case, both are pwm)

Noctua NF-F12 120mm pwm fans

Cougar vortex HDB 120mm

cooler master R4-SFNL-24PK-R1 120mm silencio seemed pretty nice as well

these are just some ideas. I do kinda like the idea of the be quiet! fans since they have great reviews and it is low sound emissions

I would get be quiets. Good reliability and low noise level

noctua fans are amazing, it's quite literally "i cant heard them" levels of quiet.

that said, fractal design's venturi fans deserve a honorable mention here as well, since they pretty much share a first place here, and i'd be recommending them instead if they had more than 4 options (120mm & 140mm, both in AF or SP variant)

i'm not much of a fan of bequiet's stuff, i have a dark rock advanced C1 in my rig, which is absolutely gorgeous, but the mounts require bloodshed to install, the fan is a good solid *mehh* in terms of performance, and is a bitch and a half to clean.

from messing with a whole range of fans from chinese to noctua, i've come up the following list of "expectances" from vareous fans:

- if they look plain, chances are they'll easily fit on the pile of "these are all just average fans, like there's millions out there"

- if they are cheap, you can probably expect them to perform cheap, either in construction, or in mechanical elements (the motor buzzing or outright failing, bad bearings, oil spills... honorable mention to the outright dogshit bearings in yate loon fans)

- if they are overly fancy, you are paying too much. (honorable mention to everyone who thinks fans needed RGB)

- if the specs are too good to be true, they probably are ;)

- if the brand name refers to something ("xilence", "be quiet", etc.) chances are that that was their main focus, and however unfortunate it is i have to say this about my *one* bequiet fan, the static pressure on this thing is an outright joke.

- if they look overly agressive (some fan brands like looking "gamer-y") chances are they'll sound overly agressive as well.

What are your specs and what are the model names of the fans that are too loud?

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?
