So, I just bought and installed my first SSD, a 500GB Samsung 850 Evo, and I already have it completely installed and set up.

My problem is that I cant seem to figure out how to transfer my programs from my old 1Tb HDD to my SSD. All I want to transfer are Windows and a handful of games, but when I try and use the proprietary Samsung data transfer software that came with the SSD I can't figure out how to only select my OS and games to transfer. Am I missing something?

you have to reinstall programs.

when you clone data, you clone every thing or nothing, id probably just reinstall

So, I will have to delete enough stuff off my computer that I can fit it onto my SSD? That sucks. I am also assuming that if I do that, Windows will be cloned too, right?

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have any extra drives handy. But thanks for the info. I'll get started on cleaning out my computer ASAP, and probably just end up re-installing all my games from Steam
