hi everyone,,,i'm going to build my first desktop pc soon and i came across a new hardware named UPS in websites,,,

apparently it's a system protector against voltage irregularity and also it has a backup battery for short blackout times...but there are tons of batteryless UPS units out there too

the only difference between UPS and a simple surge protector is that the UPS has the backup battery,,,,,

now my question is if the difference is the battery why the batteryless UPS units are so much more expensive than a surge protector? isn't a UPS unit without battery just like a surge protector?

is there any other differences?

thanks...

What "batteryless" UPS are you talking about??

It's not a UPS if it doesn't have a battery...

probably a normal ups but without a bad battery as they normally go bad, and there the expensive part.

If there is no battery, it is not a UPS.

Simple as that.

think it's my mistake,,, there is a website in my country that sails UPS units without the batteries too,,,so they mark some of them as "without battery"....think these are for the costumers that have batteries already and want the unit only...
