Would that be fine :D ? (1100$ Budget)

Hi !

So my brother wanted a new computer and he asked me to build him one.

Here's the part list i came up with. > https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/8PQfRG (CAD)

Is there anything better i could get for less money ? is it all gonna work well together ? Is the power supply good ?

Thank you guys in advance ! (he doesn't plan on overclocking or getting more than 1 gpu , that why i choosed MATX)

Since that is an overclockable cpu, you would need the correct mobo to pair with it.  i suggest getting a i5 6600(not with the 'k') with that mobo and getting the 6gb version of the 1060.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

My current rig:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Ram: 1x16gb DDR4, 2x8gb DDR4

Storage: 1tb nvme ssd

GPU: gtx 3080

Monitor: 23.8" Dell S2417DG 144hz g-sync 1440p + 27" Acer S271HL 60 Hz 1080p

Keyboard: ducky one I | I SF

Mouse: gpro wireless | glorious model o2 wireless

Sound : beyerdynamic 1990 pro | Monoprice liquid spark (amp) + topping d10 (dac)

The i5 6600k Is still better than the non-unlockable one , without an OC, for just 18 more dollars ? and if he ever want to oc he will be able to.

Is there really a big difference between 3g and 6g ? http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-3GB/3639vs3646

it is a 60$ gap so is it worth the 60$ ???

If you want someone to know you've replied to them you need to quote them like this.

Don't use sites like that. They're garb. Look for sites that have actually benchmarked each card.

The same site, so as to not differ on their testing methods.

I'd look at an AMD card instead.

Ive checked benchmark online and look like the 1060 3g still better in fps than the rx480 4g

What about the cpu ? is there a big difference between the unlockable and non-unlockable ?

And is that SSD better ? https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/qf98TW/a-data-internal-hard-drive-asp550ss3120gmc

The locked one doesn't clock as high, and of course you can OC the unlocked processor.

However the K CPU does require a Z series motherboard to get the most use out of it.

Yeah that's better.

You might be able to save a fair bit of money if you wait a couple weeks for Ryzen to be released though.

Motherboards should be around $80, and similar CPUs around $160.

And if i don't want to wait. and i choose that build . Will he be able to run any game ? and if i don't OC the CPU , is the 18$ more for the i5 6660k worth it ?

Kind of foolish not to wait if you ask me, 2 week isn't a long time.

Each to their own though, if you want to spend more than you ahve to.

Run, yes. Run well, depends on the game.

I'd pay the extra $18, yes.
