how to reset hard drive

so i have an old laptop that im gettting rid of.  i put an ssd in it about a year ago but i wana take it out since i getting rid of the pc.  how do i essentally wipe the drive completley clean and remove windows?

Current Rig=  AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, Asus Crosshair Hero VIII, EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 ultra, 32gb Corsair Vengence Pro RGB 3000hz White, EVGA 750 P2 PSU, 1TB Samsung 980 Pro, 500gb samsung 860 evo, 250GB Samsung 850 evo, 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, 2TB seagate firecuda sshd,  LianLi PC 011 Dynamic XL ROG edition, Corsair h150i elite capelix

The simple, but not so secure method of doing it (just so it's ready for another OS), boot into Ubuntu or any Windows installation media and format the selected drive.

my issue is im thinking of putting it into my computer or into another one but i dont want it to have windows on it,  i want it to be like its a brand new ssd right out of the box how can i do that?

If you format it within the Windows installation media, but don't continue to install Windows, any system will see it as an empty disk.

So I'm reseting the pc using Windows and removing everything so will it give me the option to reinstall windows or is it  just gonna do it automatically?

Ah it's the SSD you want to re-use. For whatever reason I thought you were talking about the HDD that might've came shipped with the laptop originally. You don't even need to wipe it then. When you install it into your new system, you just use the Windows Installation media and format the drive from there.

So even if it already has an OS on it and I put it in my desktop then I'll be able to format it?

You should be able to format it within the Windows Installation Wizard without any problem.
