Controlling fan speed by molex adapter?

The way my case fans work is that they have a 3 pin connector but coming out of that is a molex connector. My case has two fans but my mobo only has one 3 pin fan header not counting the cpu fan header.

I have the second fan being powered by molex directly from the psu so I can't control its fan speed. 

My question is that if I plug the second fan into the molex connector coming out of the 3 pin connector will it be the same fan speed as the first fan? They don't have to work at independent speeds I just want my fans to be quieter.
