Console or Budget Build?

Hello everyone,

Now I'm faced with somewhat of a dilemma here - long are the days of wanting a horrifically expensive gaming PC. I'm seventeen, I have about £550/£600 and a 19'' 1280x1024 Dell Monitor, and hopefully with your guys' help, I could come to a wise decision.

I am faced with essentially two options. The first is the easy option: get a Playstation 4, a couple of games and a nice 24'' 1920x1080 monitor. The second option is this: spend whatever money I have on a budget gaming PC (possibly Steam Machine) and keep my old monitor for a while.

Some advice as to which one I should do would be wonderful, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please bare in mind though that I'm not made of money.

Best,

Rob

Your budget isn't exactly low. You have enough for a decent gaming system.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

PC trust me on this you wont regret it, Here some reasons

1. Communities better

2. Save money in long run because games are cheaper

3. You can do more than play games on a PC

4. You can do everything better and faster than a console on a console, even at your budget

5. Because I said so :D

Hope I could help!

If you're an OCD freak like me, you can swap out the ram and gpu for a matching ones. Also 600W so you can CF in the future.
