Solved now, thanks guys!

Hello!

I am having issues with getting Windows to read the correct speed of my Ram.

My Memory is supposed to be 2133MHz (Im fairly certain i set it correctly in the Bios, it at least shows me that i have it set to that, maybe there is something else to allow the OS to use it in the bios?)

But Windows 10 is telling me the speed is only 1333MHz (from Task Manager and from "wmic memorychip get speed")

My motherboard supports 2133 MHz memory

    Gigabyte Micro ATX DDR3 2133 NA Motherboard GA-F2A88XM-D3H https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AG8WKYO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My Memory is 2133 MHz

      Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 2133 MHz https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D80PPM2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My Google attempts have not been helpful this time around so I must call on a higher power! Please, help me Oh knowledgable ones!

If it's set in BIOS then it's correct; because it's dual channel sometimes the value reported is cut in half. If you multiple the value in your CPU-Z for DRAM frequency, you get the correct value (plus or minus a few MHz).

It is correct, I forgot the reason but most programs read it as less than the advertied speed because thats the effective speed? Idk why tf they do it I just know it is correct lol

I can concur if you needed someone else to approve. When I benchmark Fire Strike with an overclocked RAM, the Fire Strike score only shows my native RAM speed and not the OC speed.

DDR means double data rate

Ahh! I actually did read about that, i wasnt looking at the correct spot in CPU-Z then, I missed the "Dram"Section and mistook nb frequency for it (which would have been roughly 2400MHz) so I kind of messed myself up. I really wish Windows would have just read it correctly in the first place >.<

thanks!

Yeah your stuff is fine and I actually misspoke. I said the reason is because it's dual channel when in fact @deXxterlab97 is correct; it's the double in DDR that makes it so. Had a blonde moment there. Enjoy your RAM!
