Hey Everyone

Im Building a new P.C but im not sure where to start can you guys make up a list for me for parts, or just give me tips in general.

Notes (Plz read)

- Budget: $550

- Do not worry about picking out (Keyboard, mouse, Hardrive (1tb HDD)) As I already have these items.

- Color Scheme Must not be Red. (I Prefer Blue)

- The Most powerful games I want to run on this P.C is DOOM (2016), Alien Isolation, GTA V. So I don't want to make it more powerful than it needs to be.

Its $18 over you budget but it has an 8gb GPU in it.

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/RAM555789/saved/QbRqsY

Breakdown of the the parts and why I choose them

CPU-I choose this CPU becuase while its not the quality of an Intel Proccessor, the FX series from AMD can push out enough power for you to enjoy your games, and allows for a better GPU, and in the future you could get a new CPU without worrying about getting a new GPU or SLI your GPU.

GPU-For this I choose the RX 480 8GB, this card is a little power house and the speific model I choose has 3 fans to help keep the card cooler.

MOBO/Ram-Pricing and Size are why I choose the RAM and Mobo

PSU-I choose this PSU due to it being modular to allow you to take out cables for better airflow and managment. If you would prefer to be a bit close to your budget you could change it to a non-modularPSU.

Case-This was in part due to the price and in part due to the being a MicroATX build, but its by Fractal Design and they make very good cases, the GPU will jsut be a bit of a squeeze.

The FX series is dead, and being replaced in literally 2 weeks. It's not a good idea to suggest systems running on what's essentially 5 year old technology. Also I don't believe that board is suitable for high overclocks, making the chip fall even further behind what you could get with a similarly priced Intel build.

If you plan to OC you need a drastically more powerful PSU, and a cooler to match.

I'm just working off of what we got right now, and with a $550 budget your not going to be OCing unless you manage to get lucky with some parts off Ebay or some computer repair shop. I'm basing all  my stuff off reputable sellers. But yes waiting for Ryzen is the best option.

An i3 or G4560 would be better options right now with that budget.

With the budget I went with an FX becuase I know there cheap due to their age, but I can play games from this year on them just fine. It really only starts to stuggle under intensive CPU loads in games like Arma 3.

That's the thing though, they're not that cheap, and there's absolutely no upgrade path with them, making them more expensive in the long run. For sure it can play games, but not as well as a different built. It sacrifices too much.

For example, this is almost a dollar cheaper than your build, but will perform much, much better.

The processor is cheaper than that i5 and will not perform as well, but I would rather get an FX series processor now, and get the better GPU. (although in all honesty i I had to choose I would wait for Ryzen......kappa)

Your GPU wasn't better. Members on here have had issues with it. 4GB is more than enough for 1080p.

Simple fact is for the same price, or a mere $15 more, he could have a significantly better system.

An i3 would allow for a top end RX480 8GB, or even a 1060.

I'd drop the cooler, pick up cheaper RAM (speed doesn't matter a great deal), and get an RX470. Other than that it looks pretty good.

You don't need a cooler, and just get the cheapest RAM.

Really? Odd. Don't know why you'd pick a significantly worse performing card at basically the same price point.
