Should I sell my R9 Nano to get RX 480 4GB?

happyleonardo14

Hello, I'm just wondering if should I sell my R9 Nano since I can sell it on ebay from $300 at the end I'm gonna get like $230 because I have to pay ebay fee, shipping, and paypal fee.

The RX 480 Armor it's $200 from amazon.

The reason that I would like the RX 480 it's because has less power consumption it's new architecture and the R9 Nano have a little bit coil whine.

It depends on the game really, in some games the nano is a lot faster, in others its equal, it wouldn't be a great move imo

No. That would be a tremendous waste.

There's most likely going to be no performance benefits from doing so. I mean if you plan on going cf later on a 480 is probably easier to get at this stage compared to the nano, try using frame target to stop/ reduce coil whine, it's usually only present from stupidly high frame rates in menus.

Most 480's will whine just as much, the extra noise they make in general with fans will mask it a little better though.,

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

nope, best to look for specific benchmarks as the test platform on those sites can differ greatly

Umm tearing isn't a real problem when I play cs go or league of legends at 144fps I can't see anything and with other games like The Witcher 3, The Evil Within, Inside I use vsync. there's no really good monitor like LG 24GM77 with Freesync.

Not a fan of Vsync because of the added latency. If you're content with not getting 100fps - 144fps in many other AAA games to utilize that monitor then no need to switch to Freesync monitor. :P

For the same price you could get an R9 Fury. I'm not sure if your PC is a SFF one, but if you have space for a radiator, then go for it. The most common versions of the Fury are Sapphire air cooled cards which are huge. 450mm, so if your case allows for it, then take the pluge as Vega is coming soon so these cards may be harder to find.

Oh not at all, R9 Nano > RX 480.

That site you linked is utter garbage, here's a much more reliable one for comparisons:

As for OP, it'd be a downgrade and I wouldn't advise it. What's more, I'd advise you to put a custom BIOS on the Nano that allows more voltage so it's essentially a full-fledged Fury X.

latency of v sync only matters when you play competitive games for single players games I don't have any problem to use v sync and I already said  this when I play cs go or league of legends at 144fps, I can't see tearing and for those Triple AAA games I max every setting so I get around 70fps. There's no a real good monitor with free sync better than LG24GM77 that's why didn't bought a free sync monitor.

R9 Fury it's almost the same thing but it has more power consumption so I think I'm okay with the Nano.

Personal preference really, I can't stand the extra latency from Vsync give in many games.

I take Nixeus Vue 24 anyday anytime over that LG monitor.

Eh, now that I think about it, just keep it. The R9 Nano will probably need more power and it's saving you a little money. IMO not worth the hassle
