Old AMD cooler on Ryzen

My old phenom II X4 955 has a TDP of 125W while the rumoured Ryzen 3 1400 has a TDP of 65W. Will I be able to OVERCLOCK on my OLD AMD STOCK COOLER?????????????

But actually, if the cooler is compatible with the new mounting positions and all that, it should work rather well I would think.

I think I have actually found some use for my old noise generator.

From what I've been told around here, the cooler mount design is pretty much the same as it's been since forever at this point, so it should work.

 

I'd still use the new stock cooler though. Might even be a Wraith one!

The wraith cooler can match the Hyper 212 in performance (sometimes). It'd be better to use that
