Do I need a visa?

Do I need a visa to visit Hong Kong and mainland China now? If I need a visa, is it just one (Chinese visa) that I need? Not sure since Trump got into office. I'm in the US.

The Trump presidency has done nothing to change the entry requirements of either China or Hong Kong(it isn't even capable of it as Trump was not elected to rule China), it is very unlikely that they will change in the future unless something really goes wrong.

Iran has barred all us citizens from visiting in retaliation for trumps travel ban.  

Its actually not unreasonable that in a fit of rage he does something with travel from china to here and we could see a retaliatory policy.

But as of right now China should still be covered with a us passport for visiting.
