DVI-D vs HDMI port on MB

About to start building my pc but first I need to know if I have to go buy a dvi-d cable or if I can just use the HDMI port on the motherboard

If you do not have a graphics card in the system, then just using the HDMI port on the motherboard is fine. If you do have a graphics card, you will want to connect to that, not the motherboard.

You can use the HDMI port. Or any of the ports.
