i think Microsoft still have a future, because (maybe) most enterprises use windows and also a lot of people, software games, hardware still use windows as a primary OS while in linux it is a little bit harder to seek compability. it's not only because other OS have better feature. it is because of marketing and big jump start. maybe.

I'd say all three. Why limit yourself to one.

1) Microsoft definitely does have a future, with it's recent announcement of ARM being able to run x86 as well as UWP programs is just the start, not just to mention the large amount of corporations using Office 365 and also it's recent advancements with Server 2016 (Great Hyper-V stuff... 2016 Nano Servers!!!) and also the fact that Active Directory will not be beaten for some time in the Enterprise environment.

2) If you are developing apps, unless they are for productivity/enterprise, the bigger market for 'apps' is going to be on the Android & Chrome ecosystem. Especially as Chrome apps will work on Windows utilizing Google Chrome. The majority of Windows users will still be using traditional x86 applications rather than UWP ones so if you are creating traditional apps I would stick with the Android ecosystem for the time being. You can always expand your knowledge to UWP should the environment grow more and you are feeling up to the challenge. However, as before said Qualcomm processors running x86 apps in Windows, this may soon mean a growth in adoption of Windows devices and as a response to that a growth in demand for UWP apps.

Just a few things to think about.

If everything in an Active Directory is an object and women can be part of an Active Directory, does that mean women are objects?

Microsoft is spending piles of money trying to figure out what the next step forward with human to computer interaction. The cloud so you can save you have standard set of setting from your coffee maker to you PC. The hololens to help create art or engineer parts. The big thing that is an issue for me is trying to do a lot really fast and organically. I believe they also notice the next generation of techs wants more human interaction via face to face and AR.

A) Google doesn't control everything even now.  Their hold on software such as Azure and Office remain distant seconds.  On top of that, Microsoft has had fairly good penetration into both Android and iOS with their own branded apps.

B) I've been hearing about the upcoming successes of Chrome longer than I have been hearing about a Surface phone.  Surface still hasn't happened, and ChromeOS now has even more competition now with the influx of ultra cheap Windows notebooks.

I'd say that Microsoft has a fairly bright future.
