Every time, i asking people about my CPU i hear that... :DDD

So.. Do you think, this will bottleneck a bit in.. Uhm.. Rise Tomb Raider, Gta5, Witcher3, ME:Catalyst?
I just watch like an ALL TESTS in youtube, and read ALL forum's i can find. I saw that gtx1070+i5-2400 working fine.

Yeah, hence the quotations and trademark signs :)

Those are some pretty CPU heavy titles, so I don't expect a 60fps lock guarantee. Just be ready to turn down some settings, though that may not really help.

Don't believe those youtube video's, just go to reknowned websites like DigitalFoundry or GamersNexus. Even websites like GameGPU or HardwareUnboxed are sketchy.

EDIT:

There is also the difference between it "working fine" and the GTX 1070 getting full saturation of drawcalls. The point where you reach say... 80% of the performance could be say, your i5-2400. But 100% could be only reached by 5ghz 7700K's. The closer to saturation, the faster the CPU has to get. Also, in both scenario's the GPU load will be 98-99%, so even that is deceiving.

So most people will call that 80% 'fine', but it's technically still bottlenecked by another 20%.(hypothetical numbers!). This is the problem with most of these discussions, they do not specify on which side of the fence people want to sit.

Not sure how @Droidbot can argue some flat rate of 20%. In modern games it will def. be more than that.

idk either, but my figure is in generally CPU bound titles like GTAV, Witcher3, etc. considering I've seen 15% better framerates with a 6700k on average compared to my 4670k, I'd assume around 20-25 for the 2400

idk

Thanks you a lot for the solution <3

Well Wither3 scales with whatever you throw at it. Extra cores or IPC. So the rate at which it improves the framerate depends on the settings and how much the GPU is driving performance. It also depends if he's aiming for 60 or higher adaptive framerates. Above 60 the gains with a faster CPU go well over 20% when comparing a 7600K to a i5-2400.

I don't have the numbers (what do they mean, Mason?) but my friend does and on average in like 15 games (DeusX, GTAV, 3DMark, Witcher3, COD BO3, COD MWR) we saw a 15-17% average between the two processors

idk

GPU? Settings?

1070 8GB, and I don't have the settings but usually maxed out at 1080p and 4X MSAA for GTAV

Well 4x MSAA in GTA5 destroys framerate and puts it on the GPU almost completely. I'm amazed you saw any gains at all.

Yeah, I think I saw like 5% there and my friend commented that it was peculiar - thanks for the tip, when I retest I'll redo it without MSAA

idk

Aw..
Now i start to get it. I think...
So... 1070 will work on 80% of her potencial, right?
I think this is quite fine for me. Just because i will upgrade CPU after 1-2 mounths from GPU.

Now i have question... What CPU can you recommend to  me?
Btw, second question, if you can answer to this :D What company can you recommend? I wish MSI Armor 8G OC, is this a good choice?

Probably 7600k or the Ryzen equiv when it comes out

idk

Quite a bit, just make sure your upgrade is a powerful i5/i7 or Ryzen equivalent. Look at where the i5-2500K is and your CPU should be below that. 980 Ti and Titan X are a bit slower than the 1070 so if the case in those graphs were a 1070 then the min FPS for the i5's and lower tier CPUs would be lower.

GTX 980 is about 30%-40% slower than a GTX 1070. So yea there will be noticeable bottleneck when paired with an i5-2400, stuttering? Possibly. And it's a guarantee you're going to hit 100% consistent CPU Usage in these demanding titles with a GTX 1070.

No I said the 80% was a hypothetical number. It could be much less.
