I would probably look for a 1300 VA UPS.  This should provide enough power to easily save any progress on your machine and perform a safe shut down.  I've had fairly good experience with APC as a UPS/Surge Protector.

Your system shouldn't use more than just over 400W at load so units like theses below would be enough for the build, peripherals and networking equipment.

In the future it would be best to make a separate thread but it depends on the speakers you have, for regular PC speakers it wouldn't add too much extra but go for the largest unit you have there the 1400VA. As for electrical damage a UPS will not do any good in a lightning strike, as the amount of current and power coming through is unpredictable.

Got it.

Small home 5.1

How about for voltage dips or brownouts?
The most concerned i am for now are the voltage changes, since from time to time i hear the crackling noise from my speakers, which i guess is from voltage changes, caused by some power dips in the neighborhood. Though the speakers have survived for a long time, so im not concerned about them, but i had 2 monitors which malfunctioned with similar issues. Thats why im asking if i could just use the UPS for monitor and pc and connect the speakers to a normal wall socket.

Oh yeah that's not a problem nothing super major, a UPS will help with ensuring good quality power and smooth out brownouts, and voltage drops not to mention sudden power loss. It would be best to have everything on the UPS as the 1400VA unit will be more than enough and protect everything you have.
