Hey guys, so I'm making a website for my wife, she wants to sell some of her homemade stuff but it says it's not secure, so I looked up that I need HTTPS SSL to make it secure. Is there a safe way to get them for free? I really don't know much about SSL. Thank you for your comments.

Don't use wix, squarespace, or any of that junk. They are overpriced and give you barely any personalization. I would buy hosting for GoDaddy or some other host for about $60 a year. Then get a domain name for $20. Make sure that your host offers Let's Encrypt SSL so that you can SSL for free. Your host should have documentation on how to setup SSL. If not there are plenty of guides online that will show you how.

As for the CMS, use WordPress or some other shop platform. WordPress with WooCommerce is easy enough to learn in a day.

I applaud you for your choice of CMS and setup.

I would contact eHost and ask them if they support Let's Encrypt. Otherwise you will just need to pay to get an SSL cert.

eHost is owned by EIG so I can almost guarantee they won't support something free like Let's Encrypt, since they want to make money on the SSL certificate. Good to hear that OP was able to buy one and get it installed though, and I too applaud OP for choosing WordPress and WooCommerce.

You can get a free SSL like in this LTT forum from CloudFlare (guide ) or you can use a Let'sEncrypt SSL. To use CloudFlare's SSL you must use their CDN which is a really great option.BTW It's free.

I'll save this for next year, I bought a 1 year of their Certificate already.
