Best Case to Hand/Stencil Paint the Side Panels

Dredge

Hello,

I'm starting to plan my build, which I will start in about 2 months following the release of Ryzen. 1 aspect of my build will involve a graphic I will paint on the side of the case. Specifically I'll be printing out and cutting a stencil that I will then use to spray or brush paint on the design.

Currently I'm eyeing the Define R5 for it's straight edges and clean look that I love, while the black will also serve for an excellent background to my design. I'm concerned about what paint to use and if the material that the R5 is made from will be suitable for this.

Do you guys have any opinions on a better case for this project or a particular type of paint to use?

The paint on the sidepanels is all a very hard powdercoat with a little bit of texture. Almost any paint will work with it but it does help to wipe it all down with lacque thinner first since it helps remove any grease and oils and softens the powder coat for better adhesion. Spray paints are your best but but be careful with recoat time. Another good method would be a cheap airbrush kit.

I will definitely look for the lacquer as I had not thought of that.
I'll be letting each coat dry for a full 2-3 days before applying the next.
Not sure about getting an airbrush unless I can figure out something else to use it for, but I will keep it in mind.

Thank you!
