Get 1070 or wait for volta

Should I wait for 1070ti or volta architecture or just get 1070 right now?

1070ti is probably not happening and volta is a year or two away.

 

Just buy a 1070.

1070ti is a unicorn. Unless you mean't 1080 ti which should be released soon enough. Volta won't be released in 2017 so you'll be waiting a while.

 

What are you looking to get from your gpu? The 1070 is a solid card.

Not that I'm aware of but the rumors seemed to be picking up speed at one point. I'd expect the 1080ti to be Nvidia's response to Vega in a few months or so.

to be honest with you, i've seen so many "confiormed: nvidia is gonna announce the 1080ti then and there" things that ended up being false that i'm honestly considering the concept of nvidia sitting on the 1080ti to troll the rumormill people.

1070ti wont be a thing. nvidia has released x50ti's and x80ti's thats all for that. 
the gtx 1070 is one of the best bang for the buck cards that have been released in a pretty good amount of time. and they overclock like absolute champs. Mine is at 2200mhz and i havent seen 50c (but its a hybrid and 22c here so expect that to be higher), but its a 1440p 60fps handily in everything ive played. the only time i dip below that was in fallout 4 in certain parts of the city but thats just shitty optimization. if you can find one under 380 USD, it's worth it easily.

the last i heard was that they said it is a thing but it wont be around for another 4-5 months. youd think its AMD releasing it or something with these pushbacks.
i get why theyre doing what theyre doing, to reduce returns on titan Pascal cards when its released (i guess that was a problem last time), but it does suck for people in the "wait for the 1080ti" boat for the last 5 months.

I think that we have been told that the 1080ti will be a card, but we haven't been told when, or anything else about it

well, lucky for you we have a 560ti, a 660ti, and a 760Ti.

 

in fact, the 900 series is the only one without a 60ti, and they royally fucked up their naming scheme on their 1060 3gb and 6gb.

Unfortunately consumer grade Volta is not planned for this year I heard. Just Quadro Voltas will be announced

 

There wasnt X70ti or X60ti card in years so dont hold your breath for that to happen. Nvidia has moved to X80ti cards (failed Titan chips get cut down and released as "Ti").

 

1070 can procive 120+ FPS on many many games at 1080p, easily run 60fps at 1440p.

 

For anything higher you need 1080.

 

So if you need a GPU upgrade buy the 1070 now

Haha! I'm not trolling.

I created a thread two months ago my R9 280x was dead (blue lines then it freezes)  

 

I currently have 1080p 60Hz monitor but I'm soon going to get 1080p 144Hz monitor. I think this card would be perfect for 1080p 144Hz gaming.

 When's VEGA coming? I heard rumour that says it will be launching in October.

 

So I think you all seems to like 1070 and it will be good enough for next 3 years? 

Also, I have i5 4570 will it bottleneck?

The roadmap they published has Volta pegged as like 2018. Totally not worth waiting.

No, and I'm expecting them to hold on until it becomes clear if Vega beats the 1080 in any appreciable way. If so, they'll leapfrog it with the 1080 Ti, if not they probably won't bother. Why undercut the Titan X if not prompted to by AMD?
