Pretty sure he was referring to the DVI ports which are lacking the signal for analogue output.

He's talking about the DVI ports. They no longer comes with the pins for an analog output. You can still use displayport adapters.

Unless he's scared that much from the next-gen requirements, i's ridiculous to say the least. (believe me, 60FPS will be at some point hardly targetable even at that relatively low resolution)

 

But still... he can upgrade later the monitor and i'll be much easier and less of a burden on his wallet next time around.

ive been running 1080p monitors since the 9500gt came out. sure it didnt game well but at least things looked nice which is kinda the main point of monitors. wouldve got a 270 and a monitor instead of just a 290 in this situation by far
