Server install error

So I'm trying to install Windows Server 2012 R2 to my Dell R710 and I keep getting this error: Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu. I'm using 8 2.5" disk version with 1 SATA disk installed for boot (only set one disk up right now going to install the other drives after) The drive is initialized and shows up properly. Any ideas?

 

 

edit. I had this problem with another install on another computer at one time but can't remember what fixed it...

How big is the disk your using as boot?

250GB (232 in practicality)

Have you tryed moving what sata port its pluged in to?

Did you put that drive in a raid 0 volume?

12GB Ram, 870w PSU, Xeon L5630, 1 Sata 250GB Drive and right now 3 146GB SAS drives

 

it currently is. Does that make a difference? (I had all 4 drives in at once earlier but when I installed windows it installed the main files on the 250GB and the boot partition on the 146GB Raid 0 so I needed to change that. Worked perfectly before. ((250GB was on its own raid 0 which was set by the controller automatically)))

it shouldn't matter..

get another drive but make it 128GB or 64GB that might help

also check if your mb can boot to a drive that has an operating system on it, e.g Ubuntu

try and boot with all of the available sata ports and see which one can boot, that should work

yes. doesnt change anything
