Choices???

For around £550 should i go with https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Btwyyf with a overclockable motherboard and great gpu (I would upgrade the cpu to an overclockable i5 and buy a good cooler soon), or https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/hJ933F for a shitty motherboard and the worst 480, and roll with that for a while. The g4560 might bottleneck the gpu, but #1- im upgrading it soon and #2 I could crank settings and resolution up to remove the bottleneck if i felt that would be better. If there was a build inbetween to these, what would it be? Should i just wait for zen? What about this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/8d7ssJ?

He can oc that 480 too and if he is upgrading he can add an ssd later no problem while a new gpu would take him more time imo

id go for the Pentium build, but i would wait for Zen seeing as it could bring some budget beast with it seeing as all the Ryzen chips will be unlocked

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

well its just a few weeks and then we will know. Ryzen is about 3 weeks away from launch, there should be day 0 or day 1 benchmarks from basically everyone so then you will know what to go for

Well, a 480 8GB is around 5-10% faster (when both are overclocked). IMO, the 470 would be a bit better, as newer games can use more than 4GBs...

I used the build he suggested, I didn't modify it. A single 8GB dimm would be better....

just a question. Where do y'all get the money for your builds?

I mean you have a haswell-e cpu on a x99 mobo. that's some serious cache.

Sorry for the pun but k'know what i mean?

IMO, get an i5 at least, because you will not have to upgrade your CPU, you can upgrade just the GPU (when a new lineup of GPUs is launched)
