So just got my computer all back together...had it in the living room so decided to check if it was happy and plugged it in the TV with an HDMI cable to the TV....after Windows says hi I picked it up and carried it in to my computer room.  Plugged everything in and my monitor says no signal.  So I am making the assumption that the computer didn't die in the 20 feet required to move it.  So my first question is does the 1080 have a possible displayport issue?  Plugged into the TV with HDMI and into the monitor with DP.

You may have a dead displayport connector. If you plug it in with HDMI, does it work?

Monitor only has DP.  But yes I have gotten it to work with HMDI to the TV.

Then return the 1080.

It probably has a broken displayport connector
