SLI Bridge

Hi all,

 

I need some guidance on a slight issue I'm having. I've used the same bridge previously but have recently built a custom loop into my system. What the current issue is the bridge is unable to reach now, maybe a mil'(mm) which means I can't use the HB bridge that came with my board.I've attempted to capture the sizing (attached).

 

Any possible ideas would be fantastic

The spacing is determined by the distance between the PCIe slots on the motherboard, which is standard. This is quite disturbing, it implies that your cards are being forced apart by your tubing, which isn't good for the edge connectors.

How could they be forced apart as the cards are connected by a parallel block

Maybe the block or tubing between them is slightly too long and has made them no longer match the spacing of your bridge.

You could trim the PCB using a file... Just make sure that you don't cut many traces. BTW, 2 regular flexible bridges work the same as 1 HB bridge

Unscrew them from the case and force it. Done it countless times.
